Decolonizing Saskatoon: Turtle Island Flag Raise
Nuit Blanche promotion submitted. the project is underway
August 30, 2018
Lights and action. The concepts of land ownership and identity frame this social intervention. Who owns the land? That is the question, with that in mind we are inviting all to participate with elders in a unique ceremony to decolonize Saskatoon (YXE) and restitute the land taken from Indigenous and Metis people. Ceremonial territory tea will be served.

Submission to Nuit Blanche
July 27, 2018
The project proposal was accepted and we're working to make the project one of meaning to the participants.
This social intervention will turn the Land Title Building, where settlers received their land permits during the European colonization of Saskatoon, into a de-colonized space.
Traditional territorial tea will be served as the participants have an opportunity to get a non colonized land title stewardship commitment and will have an opportunity to talk about earth and land ownership.
